Chapter 43. Their History

Waking, It's still early. Today, I need to get answers. I need to know everything. Getting dressed, I walk out and stop, Luca runs towards me.

"Luca, no!" Iz laughs and grabs him. "Sorry, we're waiting for Matteo to get back. How are you feeling?" She smiles at me, waiting.

"Fine, just confused and lost." She nods and hugs me. Walking over, I sit down with her.

"You will be fine. You just need time to readjust to this new life." She smiles and sighs. "It's hard. I grew up knowing the brothers and their sisters. I knew about the family, the Cosa Nostra, but even now, I struggle every now and then."

I don't respond; I just watch as Luca plays, and she talks about Matteo and his current position in the parliament. Elmay walks over and holds out food while smiling at me.

"I haven't seen you in ages." I hadn't, which is weird.

"You were busy, Marco said you need to eat." She smiles and walks away.
