"Calix," she gasped as she caught sight of her husband's apprehensive countenance. With one particularly straightforward query from Calix about why she was breaking down, she was rendered speechless.

Her husband stands in front of her, and even though she isn't expecting him to be here given their previous confrontation and what James has told her about giving him space, she can't help but want to get closer to him and feel his warmth to pacify her raging emotions towards her father.
