Chapter 21
The new moon was in three days, and she would be leaving. Jun’s heart stuttered painfully at the thought, and that was why he decided to take her down and announce their relationship to his family. Leticia was initially worried about the decision and what it meant for them, especially him, but he calmed her with words he knew weren’t true.
His parents would disown him, and Noelle would hate him and possibly go to her father with the news. His tribespeople would spit at him and call him a disgrace to the clan. But he would have her, and that’s all that mattered.
Jun waited for Leticia to get dressed before escorting her down to the general hall, where the banquet was still ongoing. Every servant they passed gasped at their intimately entwined hands, and as they got closer to the hall, his nerves thrummed readily with anticipation. Pressed up against him, Leticia’s frail body was tense, and he gently kneaded her hip to try to calm her down.
She gave him a grateful sm
