Chapter 56
"What do you mean by you cannot find her?" James Heartman asked Hendrix as hurt crossed his face.
"I'm sorry, alpha. The description you gave of the cabin, the warriors went there as instructed by Alex, but there was no sign of anyone there," Hendrix explained.
James Heartman shuddered. "I should never have left her behind even when she asked me to. What do I do now?" He panicked.
Alex folded his hands and propped his elbows on the table. "Was there no clue around to lead to their new hideout?" He asked, but Hendrix shook his head.
"None, Alex," he responded.
James stumbled back and Hendrix had to hold him from falling. Alex looked in his father's direction and he could see the genuine anguish he felt concerning the disappearance of his wife. "Come, sit," Hendrix said as he pulled James into the nearest chair.
James placed his hands on his face. "I should never have left her," he kept blaming himself.
"Yes, you should not have," Alex retorte
