Emily reined herself in, folded her hands in her lap so she wouldn’t punch him. Whatever was going on between Nathan and her father, she at least seemed to still have his interest. It annoyed her that that bit of information meant something to her. It was only because it meant she could still convince him though.
For all she knew, he only took the meetings with her father knowing it would get back to her. This was probably just another stupid game to him. Too many maybes. She needed to get the papers signed sooner rather than later. She dismissed the kiss and the butterflies it gave her, had left her with, as a casualty of war.
Emily knew better than to mix business with pleasure. So what if he was exactly her type? If anything, that’s exactly why this wasn’t going any further. Her track record with men was clear evidence that her type was bad for her and she would likely end up married to one of the snobs her father spent her late teens/early twenties introducing her to
