Chapter 31. Maine’s Signature date (3)
“So this sappy, oversharing shit that we’re doing is what people do on dates?”
“Guess so,” she beamed back at him.
“Do we at least get to make out like strangers that met at a rock concert and don’t know each other’s names now?”
She thought about it for a moment and decided to just go for it.
“Maine Industries is dying, Nathan. It can’t handle more time being run by my father. I don’t just want to take over, I have to.”
He already knew that. That’s why the plan was to make her the new CEO and a seat holder. Only now, with the whole seat holders dying thing, the plan had gone to shit and who the hell knows what he’s doing now? For once in his life, Nathan wouldn’t mind some direction, some actual, solid orders or a lead that definitively said that it’s not her.
He turned her around in his arms, took in her beautiful face and said, “Next date, I’ll sign whatever you want me to at the end of it. Fair?”
