“Wait,” said Nathan, suddenly beside him and grabbing him by the wrist. “Just watch.”

“That’s an actual sword! Aaron doesn’t know shit about swords,” said James, his gaze dropping to where Nathan had grabbed onto him. Nathan let go.

“One, that’s not true. She never would have brought him here if it were and two, he doesn’t need to know shit about swords for what they’re doing. Not the one he currently has out anyway.”

She tested his speed and power, seeing how far she could push him until she reached his limitations. At that point she threw her sword down and watched him bring his up to her throat.

“So your dad’s kind of a dick.”

Aaron chuckled and closed in on her, a little high on the idea of how she’d let him put a sword to her throat like it was nothing. Then again, she could probably take it from him faster than he could do any damage.
