“Just prank calls, sweetie. Don’t worry,” Uncle Salvador said, but his eyes betrayed his fear.
It was like this was bigger than him, but he was trying his best to make sure that he sounded convincing, but it wasn’t sounding that way to me.
If he didn’t think he could do anything about this, that meant we were in for it; this only meant that this was bigger than him.
He didn’t look like he was just trying to get me to calm down, he was telling himself that too. I had never seen my uncle this restless, he was always calm and collected, he didn’t need to do too much hassling, but this was different.
He was perplexed, he was worried that he might not be able to do anything to save us and him.
