I stood frozen, phone pressed to my ear. Shantelle’s words cut deep.
“You’ve been lying to me.” My mind raced.
How did she find out? What did she know?
“Shantelle, please—” I began.
“No, Atlas. You’re going to explain everything,” she demanded.
I took a deep breath. It was time to face the consequences.
