Shantelle’s POV
My eyes locked onto Sean’s, the tension between us palpable, like a thick fog that enveloped the room. Seven’s presence seemed to fade into the background, swallowed by the weight of our complicated history that hung heavily in the air.
The silence stretched, thick and suffocating, as if the very walls were holding their breath. Sean’s jaw clenched, his eyes blazing with a turbulent mix of anger and pain, the kind that could ignite a fire.
“Are you going to protect him?” Sean spat, his voice laced with venom, each word sharp enough to cut. “After everything he’s done?”
