Chapter 9
Shantelle’s POV
“Will be out for a while. Nobody should wait up for me,” I called out immediately so I could escape from my Mama’s whims.
“Don’t stay out too late.”
I didn’t bother to look at who said that. My mind was on Roman and what he had to say to me or what we were going to do.
I had to walk over to the abandoned office. I had never cared about walking or exercising my body. It was one way to keep fit.
“Roman?” I called out the moment I saw his car parked.
“In here.”
“Hi, you,” I said shyly, coming closer to where he was seated.
He wasn’t looking at me the way he normally did when we met each other at this building.
“What was happening at school?” he asked.
I didn’t want to talk about school, it was as though he needed reminding of what he sent to my phone.
Roman had never been concerned about what I did in school or any other place; he just wanted me to be here anything he called or asked that I be here
