Chapter 155. Have to Go
Bernard thought of what could pass for entertainment here in the town of Okeho, as he hadn't looked around much when he was coming. He had been so anxious, thinking of what Marissa's reaction would be to him, that he had not looked around much. He wondered if he could talk her into going sightseeing with him.
"They say you learn more about people if you learn about where they come from. Maybe I can understand her more if I know better about this quaint town," he thought as he looked around in the passage but couldn't find anyone. No sound was coming from Mama's room as well, so he was sure that she was not there, and he headed outside. Mama had her head bent as she poured some paste into small white nylons and put them into boiling water on the gas cooker close to the kitchen door.
