Chapter 233. Dead to the World

Bernard got down from his car thinking that no matter how outrageous the woman’s character could be, no human should be feeling this amount of panic.

“What is….euf, easy easy” 

She had launched herself into his arms, hanging on to his neck as she shivered violently.

Bernard couldn’t do anything else but pat her gently on the back, comforting her as he said “It is fine, it is fine now. What happened?”

She raised her head from his shoulder, looking up at him with big teary eyes “I was attacked, Ben, Oh my God, the horror! I was having my bath when I felt hands touching me from behind. At first, I thought it was my friend that I had called earlier to help me with my back as I never seemed to be able to scrub it thoroughly you know but she did not answer so I thought maybe she had slept off. Then ..the..the next moment  I felt this hand on my back. I was about to thank her when I realised that instead of scrubbing my back; the hand was caressing me. Oh
