Chapter 27. Soon Enough

She went to "her office" and put on her laptop again. I logged in to her email and clicked on the mail from La Première. Her hand hovered over the keys and she thought, " Be certain, Marissa, there is no going back after this."

She gathered her resolve and typed. "Acknowledged, I am in."

She hit the send button and laughed hysterically as the sent notification showed on her screen.

"Acknowledged, I am in. Wow, how eloquent! Good going, Marissa; if the offer taker could see this reply of yours, I am sure he would run straight for the hills," she said to herself, then she shook her head ruefully.

She thought, "That would be no issue for him anyway, as I don't think he is interested in how my brain works, only in the mechanisms of my body. That had always been the main thing men wanted in a woman, anyway.
