Chapter 33. Whose Fault?

The way Marissa looked back at the door to ascertain she wasn't in the wrong room was so comical that Bernard would have laughed, but unexplainable anger welled up in him when he saw her there at that moment, and he realized what that meant.

"No way, tell me you are not Diamond on La Première!" He said it through clenched teeth.

Marissa was aghast for a moment, then she defiantly crossed her arms over her body and said nothing.

"I swear if you do not respond to my question at this moment, I will..."

"You will what? You will what? I should have known that this was the kind of thing a man like you would do! Pervert!" She lashed out.

Bernard let out a short, humourless laugh "Perv…. Pervert? I can't believe this! Says the woman who put herself up for the highest bidder! You have got some nerves to be able to say that to my face! Pervert? You don't want to know all the unpleasant names that are coming to mind right now just by looking at you!"
