“Hello, sweetheart How are you doing today?” Marissa said as she bent to kiss Bernard’s forehead.

He was looking more like himself as the days went by. Marissa could look at him now without tears coming to her eyes. Though she would prefer he got up on time and spoke to her, she had learned to be grateful for the little things these days, as that was what could help her.

The oxygen mask had been removed, as the doctor stated that he could breathe on his own now and was becoming more and more responsive. They had moved him to the regular hospital room.
