“I would love to, but InterHigh is coming. I have to focus on that event. It’s enough for me to make Savi believe we’re not the two of us in that video.”
He nodded but still didn’t buy my excuses. I stared at the vacant target board to settle it. The last time I checked, I was still a sharpshooter. I pulled the string in the bow while targeting the red circle on the target board.
“Savi is lucky to have you. If I were in your shoes, I might not have endured her paranoia and jealousy.” I sighed, making sure I turned to him. “I’m glad my soon-to-be sister-in-law got a man like you.” I let go of the string while my eyes were on him.
He let go of our gaze, and his gaze followed the arrow I released. His lips parted a bit. I looked at what I had hit. The side of my lips aroused when the hand landed on my target.
