“That’s funny, Richie.” I growled at him, and he smiled. It was a little difficult for me to speak, due to the swelling, but English was better than German. I was thinking about Johanna. We solved our problems for now, but those shitty cats blew up her house. I feel like I should do something about it.
“Yes, I know. I’ve been thinking about that too.” My friend scratched the back of his neck with a discreet gesture, shifting the weight of his body from one crutch to the other. “That’s why I’ve already contacted my cousins in Sydney. They are taking care of it.”
“Your cousins from Sydney?”
“I’m going to rebuild Johanna’s house. Don’t worry, it’s on me.” He explained to me, calmly. You could see that my expression of confusion was quite significant, because Richie smiled and his blue eyes peered at me proudly from under the brim of his hat. “I’m an architect, Lai. If it has four walls and a roof, it’s my specialty.”
