Chapter 38
One thing was clear: Ivan was trained to fight, and it showed. The black feline was more careless and instinctive, but no less lethal.
At that, Ishida ran out of the cabin through the front door. He was coming toward me, and he was carrying a white box in one hand and his sheathed swords in the other. I couldn’t help but notice that there was more blood than before on what was left of his shirt.
I unlocked the doors and opened the truck for him. Ishida threw the white box almost at my head:
“For the child! Stay in there, you’ll be safe!” he shouted at me, without letting me speak, and then he launched himself back into the fight.
I fiercely closed the door and locked it again, and opened the box frantically.
Mirko spoke then, looking at me with somewhat glassy eyes:
“They… they have?” he called to me, his voice broken.
“Mirko!” I turned to him, and although I once again had Sasha on my lap along with the first aid box, I tried to help him. H
