That was a fast day in many ways. Many things were happening at the same time, at such a speed that I couldn’t react enough to properly adapt to the situations, and I just let myself go with the flow. I think that’s why I hadn’t yet had a hysterical attack after knowing that, for a moment, there was a possibility that that unfortunate panther had been in my own basement for a few hours, waiting for the opportune moment to attack us.
Richie was furious; he couldn’t forgive himself for not sniffing out our sinister feline visitor from the beginning, but Nika tried to convince him that it wasn’t his fault, telling him that his nose was so sensitive that, in closed spaces, it was more of a problem than an advantage (wow, way to motivate him).
