I think I realized he had the baby only because I caught glimpses of contrasting colors between his big, hairy arms. The girl was awake, because she moved her fists and scratched her father’s fur insistently, but—
“Ah.” That was all I could say, crushed against the door.
The gigantic werewolf looked at me with more interest and directed his ears in my direction. A hollow growl echoed inside him, but one thing worth noting was that he hadn’t even wrinkled his snout to show his teeth, those massive fangs I knew he had. He was not calm, although he did not seem on the attack either; perhaps there was no reason for me to feel so threatened in his majestic presence.
