Chapter 5

When Audrey immediately comes to her best friend’s home, she exits the vehicle and runs up to the door, calling out in panic, “Belle! Belle.”

“Miss, can you please lower your voice? There’s still a neighbor who wants to sleep,” Vance yelled out his window, looking irritated by Audrey’s scream.

Audrey was stunned to see the man peeking out the window and looking right at her, “Mister, it’s already afternoon!” She replied with a raised eyebrow.

She cannot compliment the man’s appearance despite his attractiveness and hotness because of her irritation.

Audrey just stopped when the door suddenly opened. The annoyance at the man disappeared and was replaced by concern for her friend, “Hey, what happened? Why did you leave earlier? Are you okay? Is anything wrong with you?” She asked in series while anxiously looking at Belle.

Vance heard it by Audrey’s loud voice.

“Hey, Belle, are you okay?” he shouted through his window while still looking at them.

Belle looked at Vance and didn’t know what to say.

“I feared something horrible happened to you since your friend’s scream was even louder than the fireman’s siren.” Vance teased as he put his arms on his window sill.

“Hey, Mister, this is for you!” Audrey clinched her fist and pointed her middle finger at him before dragging Belle inside of the house, who is confused by their actions.

While Vance shook his head of disbelief.

“Do you know Mr. Hunter?” Belle questioned Audrey as she was being carried up to her room.

“So, the guy is Mr. Hunter! Gosh, I don’t know him; I was abruptly screamed at earlier! The nerve of that guy, telling me that my voice is louder than the siren! What the hell—” Audrey slouched down on the bed and spat, “That guy!”

“Well, he didn’t lie about that; you were too loud earlier. I’m sure even the man across from my room heard your loud voice,” Belle says while simply looking at the room in the other house.

Audrey got up and peered out the window to see her neighbor. “You mean your new neighbor is a hottie?” She asked eagerly.

“Mr. Hunter is hot, but the man you fought earlier is hotter, and the youngest is the hottest, and I guess he’s just the same age as us.” Belle smiles and remembers the face of the man she’s referring to.

“Hmm, I’m not going to grab your neighbor anymore because it seems that you enjoy him.” she teased. “I’ll stick to the guy who fights against Carl for you,” Audrey declared.

Her eyes widened when she remembered something, “The man who wiped Carl on the floor. He is so attractive! He has videos.” Audrey claimed. “But I think someone paid all the students since there are no films of Carl’s embarrassing moment spread online,” she added.

But when she remembered what happened to Belle, she became quiet, “I’m sorry, I even reminded you of the bullshit Carl did,” Audrey immediately hugged Belle.

“I’m okay, I’m used to Carl’s antics, and that’s not the worst he did since then,” Belle assured Audrey.

“Come on, you don’t have to keep it a secret from me; I’m your best friend!” Audrey exclaimed.

“Yeah, that’s why I’m telling you that Carl wasn’t the reason I got lost in line earlier,” Belle chuckled as she walked out of the room.

“Where are you going?” Audrey yelled,

“I’ll get you a pie because you’ll be hungry after hearing my story!” Belle exclaimed as she dashed into the kitchen. When she returned, Belle had a drink and a whole pie that immediately made Audrey smile because she already knew how delicious the pie was.

While eating, Belle began to tell what happened when she came out of the place where the event was.

As soon as Belle put on her glasses, she noticed a large wolf staring at her and oozing saliva.

When she saw the wolf approach her, she gradually moved backward. She wanted to scream and beg for help, but she was unable to do so since her voice seemed to have been swallowed by fear. Even her body was shaking, “please, good dog... please... don’t bite me...” she pleaded in fear.

Her plea was unheard, though, when the wolf unexpectedly bit her leg. Belle could not let out the cry because of pain and fear. She gathered every last bit of bravery, and with one foot, she kicked the wolf’s snout repeatedly until its fangs were ripped from his leg by her kick.

Belle immediately stood up and ran away from the wolf, but it immediately followed her and jumped high to bite her again. But at the same time, as its strike, Belle slipped, forcing its attacks to overtake her. Belle crawled quickly and ran again; she had lost track of her running direction; All she wanted was to get away from the beast attacking her.

Belle spotted the storage area and felt hopeful. She instantly walked to it and confusedly opened it, but she turned a few turns on the lock, it still did not open. Belle walked up to another door and tried to open it as well. But, she was just as depressed when the door was locked.

When the enormous wolf’s impending roar came closer, tears began to fill up in her eyes. Belle slipped to sit down and closed her eyes, she gave up hope and simply leaned against the closed door. She felt the approach of the giant wolf as its breath smelling blood blew into her face. Belle blinked, and their eyes met.

The wolf had blue, keen eyes that appeared strange. Belle was destined to die, but she was still able to complement its eyes. And when the wolf pulled out his big fangs, Belle closed her eyes again and waited for it to tear her apart.

A loud gunshot brought Belle back to consciousness. she opened her eyes right away and sighed in relief when the enormous wolf was no longer in front of her.

“Oh, god, you still haven’t rejected me,” she burst into tears. Most horribly, Belle seemed to remember her near-death as she saw the giant wolf’s big teeth and blue eyes in her memories.

As soon as Belle felt better, she got to her feet and headed back toward the trail. She had been walking for a while when a car drove by. Belle immediately stopped it when she realized that the driver was a friend of his father.

“What happened to you?” he asked as he glanced at the blood on Belle’s leg.

“I dropped my glasses, so I tripped,” Belle reasoned, forcing herself to smile.

Her father’s friend obviously didn’t believe it, but he didn’t say anything else and simply let Belle go, staring out the window. They soon arrive at Belle’s house.

“Thank you, sir,” Belle said politely as she entered the house.

Before entering her room, Belle went straight to the kitchen to get the medical kit.

When Belle sat down, she noticed how large and deep the wolf’s wound was on her leg. She sobbed again as she began to treat the damage that would almost certainly leave a scar on her leg.
