I became even more skeptical of those around me after speaking with Zeke’s mother. Even my faith in Doc. Killian Chen was clouded by suspicion.

Some things are hidden from me, and I need to find out what they are...

“What’s with the long face, Belle? It’s your birthday, so you should be happy,” Audrey said as she handed me a drink.

“How can I be content? Zeke isn’t here, and I fought with his mother,” I say before taking a drink.
