“Any updates from the wolves?” I asked calmly as I stared at the messenger that got in the room.
“My lord, I haven’t been able to gain anything useful,” He said, head bowed in respect.
I stared at him for a while then stared at the door.
“Then what brings you here? I thought I made it clear that I do not want to see your face unless you bring something useful?” My head narrowed at this as I stared at him.
His body tensed up a bit as his right hand scrambled through his inner pocket and he brought out a scroll.
He got up with shaky legs as he walked towards me and handed the scroll to me, his face downwards.
I took it from him quietly as I unfolded it. What was the secret behind?
“It’s a letter from her highness before she left,” He explained while my eyes browsed through the words and it stopped at a particular one.
