Sophia’s POV

“Tell us then” Lily prodded. She too was very attentive.

I understood their unabashed curiosity. We had gone through a lot on this journey, wed quarreled and fought but we always resolved to stick together. Losing Camilla hadn’t been part of the plan when we’d set out on this journey together but what could I say?

If there’s anything life had thought me, it was to always expect the unexpected. There was no forewarning, no beforehand notice, no premonitions. Everything had just come crashing down on our heads and now we were left with no choice but to lift these heavy weight of us, even if it means walking through dangerous valleys and climbing the steepest mountains, or battling vile creatures or making deals with silver-tongued demons, we just had to do what we had to do.

For peace.
