Chapter 39

“Lauren? Are you in there?” I knocked on her door softly.

“Come in.” Her tiny voice answered. I smiled and opened the door.

The sight before me was breathtaking. She was dressed in a jumpsuit and her long hair was let down and it ran down her shoulders.

“What do you want?” She asked coldly. I ignored her question and made her sit on the bed.

I opened the box, squatted at her height and brought out her leg while she watched me in surprise.

I slipped her legs in the high heels and her eyes widened in shock.

“This was the reason I wanted you to leave those for Tessa. Hope you don’t mind?” I beamed at her and stood up.

“Of course I don’t! Thank you so much Caden. I’ve always wanted them and I can’t believe I’m wearing them right now. Really, thank you,” She said in a brittle voice.

I smiled back at her. She looked at the shoes and then at me. With a smile, she threw herself on me in a hug and we both fell on the bed.
