Chapter 17. A Third Wheel

"Did your mom invite me?" she asked incredulously. "How does she know me?"

"Obviously I told her. Didn't I mention I took my parents' permission before coming here?" he reminded her.

"Oh yes, you told me," she said, feeling bad that she had forgotten.

"In that case, I'll be glad to go," she said with a smile. Stuart was relieved that she agreed. He couldn't believe his luck. His ma was right after all. He never knew that she would agree so easily.

They ate while he told her about his plans to take up a job. Two of the companies that he had applied to had called him for an interview, but he was waiting for a response from Omega Food Corps. In fact, even Sean didn't receive any response from them.

"Have patience. It will take time since they're a big company, but they will respond," she said.
