Chapter 21. The Bet

Andrea woke up to a start the next morning and blushed seeing herself in Aries’s bed. Quickly composing herself, she got up and fled to her room. After freshening up, she realized that last night Vera hadn’t arrived like she had planned to. It was a lazy Saturday, and she had no wish to call her up and disrupt her peace of mind. Making herself some coffee, she had just sat down when the doorbell rang. Who could it be so early in the morning? 

Opening it, to her surprise, it was Caleb, Vera, and Cameron with lots of food packets in their hands. “Hey! I’m sorry I couldn’t make it last night. Did you wait for me?” asked Vera, looking apologetic. Andrea shrugged and shook her head. 

“I slept early last night.” She wasn’t happy to see Cameron since he would pester her again to attend his party. 

“Good, that you didn’t. I brought breakfast to make it up to you,” said Vera, depositing the food on the dining table.
