Chapter 23. A Brief Goodbye

Vincent’s POV

I know she’s upset, the business of her family is about to be thrown away. It was her father’s legacy and her mother worked so much to keep it this far. For some reason, I never wanted to suggest something that can’t be done. I could buy the entire building and give it back to her but I am sure she will not agree knowing how righteous her mindset is.

“Come on Ash, don’t make this day so bad for both of us. I have to leave and be on a mission very soon so let us make this day at least a little worthwhile.”

Her eyes are misty when she looks up at me, a little bit surprised by the information. Then for a moment, I thought tears would fall from those beautiful and bright almond shape eyes but she manages to push them away.
