Chapter 30. A Family Trouble

Vincent’s POV

It was in the middle of the night when I smell the scent getting stronger. I sniff the air and wonder who could it be since my father has not said anything about a guest staying in the palace. Xander and his mother have already retired for the night, having to wake up early in the morning to watch the warrior’s training.

“Vincent, we have an urgent matter to discuss.”

The voice of my father stops my hand from grabbing another glass of whiskey on the counter. I looked behind me and meet his gaze then I move my eyes to see Carmela standing close to her. My mind was somewhere else.

“Yes father, what is it? We can discuss it here.”

I smirk and took the glass promptly, emptying it before placing it back. My father ran his eyes around, people are dancing to the loud music in the hall. This is a small party to welcome our guests who already left to rest.

“Not here Vincent, come follow us. Maleficus is waiting in the function room.”
