Chapter 42. Another Death

Jack’s POV

A loud howl echoed through the night, which made me rise from my seat. I was alone in the archives studying the territories where the rogues are hiding. My father who was with me few moments ago just retreated for the night and so is Maleficus.

“Carmela!… No!”

The howl sounded like her! I immediately tried to call her on our mind link but she’s not answering. My heart begins to pound faster inside my chest! Oh Moon Goddess, please don’t let anything bad happens to my Queen!

I know it was her! But I am still hoping that I’m just wrong. My footsteps was quick to run at the nearest door. Slamming it behind me, then I felt Gemer requesting for a mind link.

“Gemer! Did you hear the howl?”

I was the one to first ask the question. I heard a sigh from Gemer before his voice quivered and answered.

“Y-Yes my King, something awful happened…”

“What happened!? And where are you?”
