Chapter 29. A Farce of a Wedding
Elina’s POV
I watched Gerard and the strange lady from earlier that I had sent back to the prisoners cells as they received guests and gifts after the wedding ceremony. My mother held my hand firmly as we stood by a corner close to the entrance, watching the whole show. I still couldn’t believe what was happening. A part of me wanted to wait a bit longer with the hope that he would suddenly stand up and come and meet me and tell me that this was all a prank, and the real wedding ceremony was about to begin.
My mother kept rubbing her hand around my back to comfort me, but I was beyond comforting. All the Pack leaders had come to meet me and my parents trying to find out what was happening and why the king had gone to marry someone else instead of me. Gerard‘s uncle even asked me if we had had an argument before now, but nothing of the sort had happened. This was clearly a night
