Seris’s POV
Before I could even utter, “Ronan, calm down!” Kaien was torn away from me. In an instant, Ronan had him pinned to the ground, his fists pounding into him, filled with rage. The air was thick with angry growls and pained cries.
“Look what you’ve done!” Eirwen exclaimed, and she was right. This was my fault. If I hadn’t kissed Kaien, he wouldn’t be in this mess. Now, Ronan was going to kill him, and I would lose a friend—Kaien would be gone, and Saelis would be my only remaining friend.
“Aren’t you going to stop him?” Eirwen urged, her voice sharp. “You’re just standing there, lost in thought, while Kaien is getting beaten!”
Her words snapped me out of my daze. I rushed over to them, wondering since when Eirwen had started caring for Kaien enough to defend him.
