Ronan’s POV
“You need to get her out of here!” My mother’s voice cracked as she and Saelis pressed themselves against the door to Eldric’s chambers. Outside, unmated wolves battered the wood, their lust-fueled howls rattling the hallway. “We can’t hold them off much longer.”
I stared at Seris, sprawled between waking and sleep, as Eldric dabbed healing potions over her wounds. My fists clenched at my sides, my breathing shallow as the savage urge to claim her swelled in my chest. First her heat-scent had driven me wild, and now this—unmated wolves demanding my mate.
Seris lay still, the blood wiped away, but she looked battered—fresh bruises darkening her skin. She rolled toward me, the shirt she wore—mine—riding up over her hips. I let out a guttural growl, fighting the urge to rip it from her and mark her as mine.
“Fuck,” I muttered when she opened her eyes, those green orbs pleading with me. She moaned my name, voice thick with need and pain. Eldric
