Seris’s POV
I stifled a scream, the silver shackles searing my flesh, creating fresh scars as tears streamed down my face. Each lash of the whip sent waves of agony through me, but I refused to give him the satisfaction of hearing me cry out.
“You broke my trust, Seris,” he growled, pacing before me. “I treated you kindly, and this is how you repay me? You ran the moment I turned my back.” The whip cracked again, my body jerking from the impact. “If you had stayed, I wouldn’t have to do this.”
I remained silent, blood dripping from my wounds, pooling on the floor.
“You make me act like a monster,” he muttered, tossing the whip aside. He unlocked my shackles, and I crumpled to the ground, my eyes following him as he retreated to the couch. He sprawled out, reminding me painfully of Ronan.
“Come here,” he commanded. I struggled to my feet, but he stopped me. “No, get on all fours and crawl.”
