Chapter 36. Time To Leave
Elara POV
Zeus carries me from my bedroom, and I assume he is taking me to the clubhouse, but we go downstairs instead. The packhouse is quiet. It is as if everyone has been dismissed for the night. I don’t really care where we are going. My head is pounding from crying, and I rest my head on Zeus’s shoulder and close my eyes.
I am dozing off when Zeus gently sits down with me. I jerk awake, and everyone is looking at me: Mom, Dad, and the triplets.
We are in Dad’s office. There are several packed bags by the office door, and fear spreads all over my body. I know what this is about. I have been preparing for it for weeks.
“Elara,” Dad whispers. “I know you are still healing, but this trip cannot be put off any longer.”
I scramble out of Zeus’s lap. I am still wearing the ballgown, though it is now ruined. Jared’s blood has soaked through the fabric. It will be impossible to clean, but I don’t have time to feel bad about that now. Without speaking
