Chapter 40. Forbidden Forest

Elara POV

My head bounces uncomfortably on Zeus’s shoulder. We have been driving around the edge of the Forbidden Forest for hours, trying to find a way in, but the forest is so thick it appears the only way to go will be on foot.

Zeke slams on the brakes, and Zeus stops me from hitting the seats in front of me. “We are going to have to go the rest of the way on foot,” Zeke grumbles.

I told them that hours ago, but they are finally listening to me. I could tell by the map that it would not be passable by vehicle. It is one of the many ways the Imperial Pack kept the temple a secret.

I am already getting out of the car. The air is crisp, and it smells like snow. My stomach sinks. I don’t want it to snow. Every bad memory that I have has taken place in a snow covered forest, but there is no turning back now. I have to find the temple.
