Chapter 70. Forty Missed Calls

Zeus POV

The past week has been pure bliss. Waking up beside Elara every morning is everything I didn’t know I was missing. Some mornings, Phoenix wakes us by jumping on the bed and settling in between us. He claims he wants to cuddle with Elara only, but I think he is warming up to me. We haven’t talked about who his father is yet, but he is a smart kid. I’m sure he’s figured it out.

This morning is different. Elara bolts upright and reaches for her robe. No sooner does she get herself covered than the bedroom door flies open. I don’t have to look to know it is one of my brothers. The look on Elara’s face says it all. She looks terrified.

Wrapping her hand around her neck to hide my mark, she shuffles from foot to foot. “Zane,” she greets him nervously.
