Chapter 73. Our Son
Zeke POV
I have to get out of the pack house. Zane is crouching near Zeus, trying to revive him. When I walk past, he grabs my ankle to top me. “Are you just leaving me with this mess to clean up?”
“I need a run,” I growled. “I just killed my father.”
“He deserved to die,” Zane tells me. “Suck it up.”
“I know that,” I scream back at him. “But it doesn’t make it any easier.”
I storm down the stairs and fling the door open, prepared to shift back into my wolf, but I am stopped in my tracks. Elara is standing in the driveway, her tattered clothes hanging loosely off her body from her recent shift. Cinder is standing in front of her, screaming for her to move, and Phoenix is nowhere to be seen.
My feet move in their direction, and Cinder steps out of the way. “You have to help her.”
Elara is staring into the distance, tears streaming down her face. “What happened?” I ask her, but she doesn’t answer.
“Ares showed up,” Cinder whispers
