She wished she could believe that he wanted her as much as she wanted him. She wished she could believe the words coming out of Ava’s mouth. It was so believable, especially knowing that she was his sister. Perhaps he told Ava that he still had feelings for her, or maybe she overheard him admitting it.

Alice disregarded these thoughts, but it was hard to, especially seeing him walking towards them now. He was looking at her while he approached them. He wasn’t smiling, and he wasn’t frowning either. His face was just relaxed, the same look he gave her whenever she was blabbering something to him, and he was giving her his full attention.
