"It is essential to keep them safe," Stella stated. 

"I so sor...." 

Scarlett started to speak, but Stella interrupted her. "Disregard my presence. It is essential to protect them." 

Scarlett released her grip, stood up, and hurried to her son's room instinctively. She had to protect them from the dangers within the home. She needed to safeguard them, even at the cost of her own life. She rushed to her son's room, and upon opening the door, she discovered them on the floor with their homework. They remained in the same spot where she had left them. That informed her that Alpha Brad had not arrived here yet. The boys glanced over at her. 

"Michael, lock the door and refrain from opening it until I instruct you to do so." She informed Michael, who stood nearest to the door. The boy hurried to his feet and went over to close and lock the door from inside, without inquiring further. 

Scarlett reached into her pocket and took out her phone.
