With unwavering resolve, Scarlett fulfilled her duties, extracting what remnants of his curse she could. And just like the previous times, it was accompanied by extreme tiredness, hallucinations, and an insatiable hunger that gnawed at the very core of existence. Her body appeared to have acclimated to this experience, growing more adept at resisting, particularly when it came to the vivid hallucinations that danced at the edges of her perception.
It was a significant improvement from the previous week, when she had experienced the vivid illusion of kissing him. She yearned to avoid a recurrence of that experience.
