Darach lifted her chin up, molten golden eyes were gazing at her with affection. There was not even a tiny amount of pity or disgust in them.
“Lift you chin up Amber. Remember who’s lass you are. You are my Queen and a Queen doesn’t bow her head down, not even to her king.” Tears fell from her black eyes at his words. He was too good to be true.
“You saw them, didn’t you? How could you not be disgusted with them, with me?” For the first time, Amber voiced her insecurities out loud in front of another being.
She had never told anyone how much her scared back bothered her. Maybe because no one saw them beside her mate. She has never lifted the magical clock off her.
By claiming her Darach had bound himself to her soul, removing her magical clock without knowing it.
It was beyond her how her scars didn’t bother him when Amber herself has not become accustomed to them.
How can a person accept your flaws when you didn’t accept them yourself?
