Chapter 14. Feeling Restless
Alexa got home that day and was happy to find her children in good health. She had had to leave that hit because it suddenly occurred to her that she had left her children for far too long and she didn’t want to be like her mother who did not know how to be a good mother.
All through the night, she could not sleep, she kept having nightmares, of vampires and witches and wats with werewolves. She jerked up, sweating.
Amidst her dreams, she had dreamt of that night five years ago and she almost caught the face of the man but it had become blurred and elusive and even now that she was awake, she felt her heart pounding. She was sure she almost saw his face. She had to so that she could at least know how to describe him.
‘I might even have been passing him on the road without knowing he is the one!’ she thought in alarm. ‘But what if he recognizes me?’ she thought. ‘He should, he must have been sober that night but why hasn’t he come forward?’ she thought in frustratio
