As Herod escorts the two out the door, I observe Cissy closely.

I notice a change in her demeanor. Although she was never particularly affectionate towards me, she now seems more distant, and our relationship has taken a step back. I had hoped that she would agree to stay with me today. Now that the three of us have to move out of that pack, I'm sure we can find a luxurious apartment near this place.

Maybe we could rent a separate room for the night so we can be together undisturbed. The waiting is driving me crazy, and my body is burning with desire for this woman.
