Book 1: Chapter 71

"I am fine," Gabriella managed to say in between tears but she wasn't fine, she didn't feel fine, she looked like a mess, and she felt like it. 

"It's okay not to be fine, you healed up pretty well, the doctor has reassured us that it won't leave a scar," Miguel reassured her.

"I killed them," Gabriella said, the memory of the car incident flooding her mind. "I shot them both."

"It was either you or them, you did well. I should probably leave you to rest a bit, dinner will be served soon. If you hear the sound of the bell, just know it's time for dinner and you can come down," Miguel said. "Or will you prefer the maids to bring your food here?"

"No! It's...em..fine, I will come down," Gabriella nodded. She had been caged up in a room for so long that she couldn't imagine spending another day in one, it was best to come out and get some fresh air.
