Book 1: Chapter 72

Awkward was an understatement for how the dinner turned out, Lombardi tried to make small talk with Gabriella in hopes of lightening her mood, but he didn't exactly know what to say without asking her how she had endured her ordeal, Miguel busied himself on his phone while Aleida threw fake smiles towards Gabriella as she stabbed her food. 

Once dinner was over Lombardi got a business call, he didn't want to leave Gabriella but he had to, "I am so sorry darling, but I have an important appointment to attend to," Lombardi apologized.

"It's fine," Gabriella said. It wasn't like she was entirely comfortable with speaking with Lombardi just yet. 

"Can she at least go out tonight? I am going to the club downtown, she could tag along," Miguel chipped in.

"Brilliant," Lombardi nodded standing on his feet. "That is a brilliant idea, Miguel, take her out, and let her have fun."
