Chapter 127. A Facade of Normalcy

The thud draws attention to them. Carter smiles at the weird strangers staring at them.

“Sorry about that,” he waves politely until they focus on their activities again. Then, Lara swiftly picks up the book, dragging Carter to the corner of the room. A smile is lingering on her face, her excitement almost palpable.
