Chapter 128. A Stranger’s Arrival
The air in the room changes when Zayn speaks, allowing tension to creep in. Lara’s heart melts with pride. The tingling feeling following is one she cannot wave off. The other mothers stare daggers at the brave child and Lara notices this.
“Please, I would appreciate it, if the both of you would threaten my son with your eyes. You stare at him like you want to devour him. I won't allow that.” She intones with a low growl, gritting her teeth and narrowing her eyes.
The women turn their furious gazes at Lara, then the guidance counselor, almost at the same time. The silver-haired counselor quickly forms a firm focus on her computer, adjusting her round glasses.
“Do you see how disrespectful this woman is?” One of the women flares up.
“Calm down, ma'am. I have got him,” she assures her, then picks up her telephone, ignoring the chubby woman.
