Chapter 156. Resilience

Lara studies her stepmother for a minute. She might have changed a little in appearance, but she is still the greedy, money-thirsty woman Lara knows her to be. Lara cannot help but wonder what is going on in Rose’s mind. Deep in her guts, something seems off. Rose is a smart woman, which Lara can attest to.
